* Ramadan lasts 29 or 30 days. The 30th fast is kept only if the Shawwal moon is not sighted on the evening of the 29th; otherwise Eid al-Fitr is the next day.

Times are local time in Delhi (Asia/Kolkata). Sehri ends when Fajr begins and Iftar is at sunset (Maghrib). Fast length is counted from Fajr to Maghrib. Dates follow the Umm al-Qura calendar.

Moon sighting: in this region Ramadan often begins one day after the Umm al-Qura date, once the local committee announces the sighting. If that happens, tick "Ramadan started a day later here" and the whole timetable moves by one day.

How the times change through Ramadan in Delhi

Between the first and the 29th fast, Sehri in Delhi moves about 24 minutes earlier (5:45 AM to 5:21 AM), and Iftar moves about 19 minutes later (6:06 PM to 6:25 PM). As a result the fast grows longer by about 43 minutes, from 12h 21m to 13h 04m.

Mosques across India commonly publish timetables based on the Karachi convention (18° Fajr and Isha), and the Hanafi Asr time is the most widely followed, although Shafi communities (for example in Kerala) use the earlier Asr. If your mosque follows a different convention, choose it above and the timetable updates. Sehri and Iftar don't depend on the Asr setting, so only the method changes these times.

For breaking the fast, see the dua for breaking the fast and the other Ramadan duas. Daily prayer times for the rest of the year are on the prayer times page for Delhi, and the Ramadan guide explains the month.

If Ramadan begins on Monday 8 February 2027, Sehri in Delhi ends at 5:45 AM, when Fajr begins, and the fast is opened at Iftar at 6:06 PM. These times use the University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi method, which is the usual choice in India.

How long is the fast in Delhi during Ramadan 2027?

Why does my mosque in Delhi show an earlier Sehri time?

Many mosques and printed calendars stop Sehri a few minutes before Fajr as a precaution (ihtiyat), so nobody eats into the time of the fast by mistake. This timetable shows the start of Fajr itself, and you can choose a 5 or 10 minute margin above the table. Mosques may also use a different calculation method.
