* Ramadan lasts 29 or 30 days. The 30th fast is kept only if the Shawwal moon is not sighted on the evening of the 29th; otherwise Eid al-Fitr is the next day.

Times are local time in Izmir (Europe/Istanbul). Sehri ends when Fajr begins and Iftar is at sunset (Maghrib). Fast length is counted from Fajr to Maghrib. Dates follow the Umm al-Qura calendar, and local moon sighting may move them by a day.

How the times change through Ramadan in Izmir

Between the first and the 29th fast, Sehri in Izmir moves about 35 minutes earlier (6:41 AM to 6:06 AM), and Iftar moves about 30 minutes later (6:48 PM to 7:18 PM). As a result the fast grows longer by about 65 minutes, from 12h 07m to 13h 12m.

The Diyanet (Presidency of Religious Affairs) method, with its fixed safety adjustments, is the official convention in Turkey. Diyanet's published Asr (ikindi) time uses the earlier, standard shadow length, so that is the default here; many Hanafi worshippers in Turkey prefer the later Hanafi Asr, which you can switch to in the page settings. If your mosque follows a different convention, choose it above and the timetable updates. Sehri and Iftar don't depend on the Asr setting, so only the method changes these times.

Ramadan in Izmir: common questions

When does Sehri end in Izmir on the first day of Ramadan 2027?

If Ramadan begins on Monday 8 February 2027, Sehri in Izmir ends at 6:41 AM, when Fajr begins, and the fast is opened at Iftar at 6:48 PM. These times use the Diyanet (Turkey) method, which is the usual choice in Turkey.

How long is the fast in Izmir during Ramadan 2027?

From Fajr to Maghrib, the first fast lasts about 12h 07m and the 29th about 13h 12m. The longest fast of the month is about 13h 12m and the shortest about 12h 07m.

Why does my mosque in Izmir show an earlier Sehri time?

Many mosques and printed calendars stop Sehri a few minutes before Fajr as a precaution (ihtiyat), so nobody eats into the time of the fast by mistake. This timetable shows the start of Fajr itself, and you can choose a 5 or 10 minute margin above the table. Mosques may also use a different calculation method.

When will Ramadan 2027 start in Izmir?

On the Umm al-Qura calendar, Ramadan 1448 begins on Monday 8 February 2027, with the first Sehri in Izmir ending at 6:41 AM. The actual start in Turkey depends on moon sighting and local announcements and may differ by a day; if it does, tick "Ramadan started a day later here" and the Izmir timetable moves by one day.
