About prayer times in Madrid

Madrid lies at 40.42° N, 3.70° W. Clocks there follow the Europe/Madrid time zone and change for daylight saving: Central European Standard Time (UTC+1) in winter and Central European Summer Time (UTC+2) in summer. Every prayer time on the clock jumps by an hour on the changeover dates, and the timetable above already includes this. Dhuhr, which begins just after the sun passes its highest point, stays between 12:59 PM and 2:22 PM on the clock all year.

The Muslim World League angles are a common default in Spain; Spain's Central European clock time means prayers fall later on the clock than the sun alone would suggest. With this method Fajr starts when the sun is 18° below the horizon before dawn, and Isha when it reaches 17° after sunset. If your mosque follows a different convention, change the method or the Asr setting above and every table on this page will update.

The seasons make a big difference in Madrid. In 2026, Fajr falls as early as 4:39 AM (15 June) and as late as 7:04 AM (24 October); Maghrib swings from 5:48 PM to 9:49 PM, and Isha can be as late as 11:45 PM. The day (sunrise to sunset) grows from about 9h 17m to 15h 04m.

Ramadan 1448 AH: on the Umm al-Qura calendar, Ramadan is expected to run from about 8 February to 8 March 2027; the actual dates depend on moon sighting and may differ by a day in Spain. In Madrid, the first fast would run from Fajr at 6:45 AM to Maghrib at 6:41 PM (about 11h 56m), and by the last day from 6:08 AM to 7:14 PM (about 13h 06m). See the Ramadan guide for more.

The times on this page are the moments each prayer's time begins. On Fridays, Jumu'ah is prayed in congregation in place of Dhuhr. Mosques in Madrid usually announce their own congregation (jama'ah) times, which are set some minutes after the start times shown here.

How long is the Ramadan fast in Madrid in 2027?

Ramadan 1448 AH is expected to begin on or around 8 February 2027 according to the Umm al-Qura calendar (the actual start depends on moon sighting and may differ by a day). In Madrid, the fast from Fajr to Maghrib would last about 11h 56m on the first day and about 13h 06m by the last day.

Why might these times differ from my local mosque in Madrid?

Mosques may use a different calculation method, a different Asr convention, their own safety margins of a few minutes, or local observation. The times here are the astronomical start times; congregation (jama'ah) times are usually set later by each mosque.
