About Surah Al-Kafirun
Al-Kafirun, "The Disbelievers", is a clear statement of the separation between pure monotheistic worship and the worship of anything else: "I do not worship what you worship… For you is your religion, and for me is my religion." It has six verses.
In the hadith
- The Prophet ﷺ recited Al-Kafirun and Al-Ikhlas in the two sunnah rak‘ahs before Fajr. (Sahih Muslim 726)
Surah Al-Kafirun is one of the last 10 surahs of the Quran, which many Muslims memorise first and recite in daily prayers.

Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
Qul yaa-ai yuhal kaafiroon
Say: O disbelievers!
Laa a'budu ma t'abudoon
I worship not that which ye worship;
Wa laa antum 'aabidoona maa a'bud
Nor worship ye that which I worship.
Wa laa ana 'abidum maa 'abattum
And I shall not worship that which ye worship.
Wa laa antum 'aabidoona ma a'bud
Nor will ye worship that which I worship.
Lakum deenukum wa liya deen.
Unto you your religion, and unto me my religion.

Transliteration: English transliteration from the Al Quran Cloud API, in a simple English spelling (it writes the Arabic letter dhal as “z”, while the duas on this site write it as “dh”). Audio: Mishary Rashid Alafasy. A translation conveys the meaning of the Quran; it is not the Quran itself.
