About Surah An-Nasr
An-Nasr, "Divine Support", is one of the last complete surahs to be revealed. It speaks of the coming of Allah’s help and victory and of people entering the religion of Allah in multitudes, and instructs the Prophet ﷺ to glorify his Lord and seek His forgiveness.
In the hadith
- Ibn ‘Abbas understood the surah as an indication that the Prophet’s life was nearing its end, and ‘Umar agreed. (Sahih al-Bukhari 4970)
Surah An-Nasr is one of the last 10 surahs of the Quran, which many Muslims memorise first and recite in daily prayers.

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
إِذَا جَآءَ نَصْرُ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلْفَتْحُ ﴿١﴾
Iza jaa-a nas rullahi walfath
When Allah's succour and the triumph cometh
وَرَأَيْتَ ٱلنَّاسَ يَدْخُلُونَ فِى دِينِ ٱللَّهِ أَفْوَاجًۭا ﴿٢﴾
Wa ra-aitan naasa yadkhuloona fee deenil laahi afwajah
And thou seest mankind entering the religion of Allah in troops,
فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَٱسْتَغْفِرْهُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ تَوَّابًۢا ﴿٣﴾
Fa sab bih bihamdi rabbika was taghfir, innahu kaana tawwaaba
Then hymn the praises of thy Lord, and seek forgiveness of Him. Lo! He is ever ready to show mercy.
Arabic text: Uthmani script (Tanzil). English translation: Marmaduke Pickthall (1930, public domain). Transliteration: English transliteration from the Al Quran Cloud API, in a simple English spelling (it writes the Arabic letter dhal as “z”, while the duas on this site write it as “dh”). Audio: Mishary Rashid Alafasy. A translation conveys the meaning of the Quran; it is not the Quran itself.
